Soundair Design
and Development Group (SDDG) was formed as a separate operating unit of
Soundair, Inc. in January 2007. In response to numerous requests and inquiries
from Soundair’s Repair Station customers, this group of aerospace professionals
are addressing product improvements through the development of PMA (Parts
Manufacturing Authority for detail parts) and STC (Supplemental Type
Certificates for components). Utilizing performance data complied from our
component and accessory repair history allows SDDG to target components or parts
that offer the greatest opportunity for reliability improvements.
SDDG is currently
developing a number of PMA parts related to galley insert components including
coffee makers and ovens. Also under development are STC’s for hybrid galley
inserts which will incorporate all of the proven improvements achieved through
the detail part PMA process. Other component groups are also under consideration
for STC where opportunities are presented by our operator / customers.
Watch this area
for further announcements bringing forth new cost effective alternatives to our
customer’s maintenance, purchasing, and provisioning programs.
